Ok...A little late, but here are our pics from Mother's Day. Nana, Grandma and our little family went to Hokone gardens in Saratoga. The garden was beautiful, however, the highlight was definitely the ice cream sundaes that Nana brought. Yes, sundaes in a Japanese garden!

What can I say, The Kellers have had quite a couple of months full of adventure, growth and most importantly, family.
We had the honor of attending the Bay Area Woman's Sports Initiative (BAWSI) annual fundraiser at Santa Clara Univ this week. Brandi Chastain was the emcee along with many other well known local athletes. Steve Young and his family were even there. Only 2 kids from Clarity's school were chosen to attend and Bean was one of them! We were able to experience what BAWSI was all about, by lacing up our sneakers and trying out 12 sports with a lineup of elite women athletes and coaches. Well, truth is, we only ended up making it to the golfing area (due to some mild meltdowns) but in the end, felt as though it was an amazing experience for all 4 of us. Please check out their site. How could you not want to support a program that uses college athletes as mentors for younger girls in low income communities and schools of children with special needs?

Charity and The Jam Band
Clarity was is HEAVEN after personally meeting and rockin out with Charity and The Jam Band. Through the Los Gatos Parent Nursery School, Charity's band came to Los Gatos a few weeks ago and played on the civic center lawn. We have been listening to their CD's for months now and pretty much have every single one of their songs deep-rooted within us.
Their music promotes peace, the idea of staying connected with your soul and intuition, love and environmental awareness and just makes you feel alive! Check out their site....

Dancin' the afternoon away with my little cherubs....
This weekend, our 5 painted lady butterflies finally emerged from their chrysalis'. Wyatt couldn't believe his eyes and Clarity was literally jumping for joy all around the deck. Here are some snaps from their release Saturday morning.

And finally, an important visit with Dr. Koltai (ENT).
Dr. Koltai was able to meet with Dr. Martin Baley from England to discuss Clarity's case. Dr. Baley was actually Dr. Koltai's mentor. Unfortunately, Dr. Baley agreed with Dr. Koltai with regards to Clarity's larynx. He also felt that our only option left was to seal up Clarity's larynx permanently to avoid an severe dammage to her lungs. Interestingly enough though, after some conversation about the pluses and minuses of lasering her airway shut, Dr.Koltai had an idea. There is a synthetic bone or coral that is called Radiousse or something like that. It is sometimes injected into vocal chords to sort of plump them up and narrow the airway to aid in speech. Of course we are going to do our research to find out more about this procedure, but there's a possibility that this might be one way to lessen aspiration without doing anything irreversible or permanent. This vocal chord injection actually absorbs into the body after 3 months, so it would be one way to "try out" narrowing the airway without actually doing it permanently. In the meantime, we are going to continue to focus on swallowing and look into, once again, mild electric stimulation to possibly help activate her "little swallower". We will only do this if it is non-invasive of course. Whew....
It wasn't Hawaii....It wasn't Mexico....but I think we ended up having a pretty good time.

And then there's Jen and Roman...In such a short period of time, we have all had so many laughs. Watching the 3 boys together is precious. Each one so different from the other, but they all meld together so well.
